A Katana/Super Reflexes or Katana/Ninjitsu Scrapper or Stalker, alternatively Katana/SR Brute will benefit the most from the +def (lethal/melee) provided by Divine Avalanche. However, note that Divine Avalanche should be thought of as a a defense buff (and slotted accordingly), not an attack. Jul 12, 2011 · Katana [edit | edit source] At release, the animations for Katana were identical to Broadsword. You can't get much tougher than a well-built SS/WP brute (or WP/SS tank of coursehave one of those too). It's just fun and was my main on live during sunset, pvp built. Hello All! I have been fiddling with Pines to see if it is possible to get Instant Healing down to a 90s recharge to make it perma. With Issue 2, the animations were completely redone, and much improved. Ice/Katana on tankers is fun, and the early game is great, it just takes a strong concept in my opinion to make the visual effects of ice armour to work with a katana's animations. So I settled on a Katana/Stone Scrapper for myself. With this being a strong performer you'll find builds for this fairly easily. Willpower seems solid. The other option besides Elec/Regen Scrapper/Brute is a combination that has interested me for a while, but even more so since I came back after a few years of absence. I'd start a Katana scrapper and if you enjoy it keep going, if not, then wait for dual blades. On my 'high level' scrapper, barring distraction I can sleepwalk through 4/8 council. A quick and elegant weapon, the Katana is faster than a Broad Sword, and can reduce an enemy's Defense. The only difference between the two (aside from the reduction in damage thanks to AT mods and the reordering of a few powers) is that Scrappers get Confront and The Lotus Drops and Stalkers get Placate and Assassin's Blade. Main Menu. I also hear Bio Armor and Energy Aura are fantastic. A new archetype? Yes, I would go that far. Shivans aren't a bad investment, certainly better than mining for large sized insps, and you can get a 5 pack temp power with about 15-30 minutes of time spent i Overview page on cityofheroes. It is a Tanker primary power set in City of Heroes and a Brute and Stalker secondary power set in City of Villains, and as of Issue 12 a Scrapper and Sentinel secondary power set in City of Heroes. Also, if you want to be absolved of ever having to actually 'tank' in a group, probably go Scrapper. Scrappers possess Critical Strike capability. Reply reply Feb 29, 2024 · Scrappers have been in the game since Issue 0, originally as a City of Heroes archetype. /Energy is much more useful on a Scrapper due to being Defense-based, while /Radiation tends to be better for Brutes. If you can live with the combo system and are willing to make sure you cycle your primary well, DB seems much more engaging. One of the perks of the Scrapper secondaries with non-damaging auras (so WP, Invuln, Energy, and Shield) is that they get a taunt component, which keeps enemies from getting frustrated and peeling away in a way that damaging ones don't (at least, not for Scrappers who don't have punchvoke like Brutes and Tanks). Electric- Res based, no glaring flaws. fandom. 0 With the recent changes to Katana, an entirely new archetype has come into existence - the Divine Avalanche scrapper. I have now decided to build a Katana scrapper with either Regen or SR. The devs have gone out of their way to make AVs a team encounter. It is characterized by high all around resistance compared to other defense sets. Overall, it's a very… Scrapper: alphas will kill me pretty simply put, but if I can get to where I'm stopping them faster than the math to stop me goes, I will 100% win. I'm pretty happy with my martial arts/regen scrapper (which I rebuilt from my first toon when CoH was live), between having Resilience for damage resistance and the defense derived from Stealth and Jump abilities (Combat Jump and Acrobatics), my toon is pretty durable, especially after having Alpha-slotted for Resilient, with Barrier as my Incarnate Destiny ability. My other katana scrapper has invulnerability and it used to work back in the day but now he isn't that great defensivly and so i'm making a new one and would like to no a good defense power. While Electric Armor is frequently maligned as a secondary for these two AT's, it has great potential, especially when paired with sword sets. Broadsword's Powers 4. Pretty durable so far. I enjoy grouping and if we cant find a tank type would like to sub this role to get the group moving. Scrapper Katana gets TLD, so their epics are more flexible, and loses Assassin's Blade, but Kat is one of the sets where I don't miss a single very high DPA attack, because its single target rotation is already blisteringly fast and sports several good DPA attacks that often carry more utility with them.
